Breakthrough is a movie based on the true story of a mother's faith at a time of crisis. When her son is pulled from the icy waters of a lake without a pulse the medical staff hold no hope for his survival. This leaves only the boy's mother [played by Chrissy Metz] to push back and appeal to God to bring the boy back. In a pivotal scene the medical staff allow her to be alone in the room with her son at which point there is a breakthrough.
I found the movie to be powerful and true to life: the mother does not like the pastor of her church who wants to give support to her family, and later on there is negativity [jealousy] from others regarding the boy's recovery.
This movie really addresses the importance of having faith, even when "expert" opinion says there is no hope. We are greater than we know.
